Photoinduced electron transfer in a b,b0-pyrrolic fused ferrocene–(zinc porphyrin)–fullerene
نویسندگان
چکیده
A donor–acceptor linked triad with a short spacer (Fc-ZnP-C60) 1 was designed and synthesised to attain the longest charge-separation lifetime, 630 ms, ever reported for triads at room temperature. The ferrocene electron donor and fullerene electron acceptor of triad 1 are attached to imidazole rings fused to opposite b,b0-pyrrolic positions of the zinc porphyrin. After excitation of the porphyrin, electron transfer to C60 occurs within 230 ps, followed by hole transfer to ferrocene after 500 ps to produce the long-lived charge-separated state.

A series of Sauvage-type porphyrinorotaxanes containing [60]fullerene stoppers have been synthesized by a convergent route. Photoinduced energy transfer and electron-transfer reactions in these rotaxanes yield long-distance charge-separated radical-pair states, whose lifetimes in solution at ambient temperatures are as high as 32 mus, depending on the distance between the fullerene and zinc por...

A multimodular donor-acceptor tetrad featuring a bis(zinc porphyrin)-(zinc phthalocyanine) ((ZnP-ZnP)-ZnPc) triad and bis-pyridine-functionalized fullerene was assembled by a "two-point" binding strategy, and investigated as a charge-separating photosynthetic antenna-reaction center mimic. The spectral and computational studies suggested that the mode of binding of the bis-pyridine-functionaliz...

Efficient electronic energy transfer (EET) in the newly synthesized dyads comprised of zinc porphyrin covalently linked to one, two or four numbers of boron dipyrrin (BDP) entities is investigated. Both steady-state and time-resolved emission as well as transient absorption studies revealed occurrence of efficient singlet-singlet energy transfer from BDP to zinc porphyrin with the time scale ra...
